GOC-Refresher
Participants will be refreshed regarding their knowledge about theory and praxis of the GMDSS. The course will take 3 days, 2 days on a stand-alone simulator and 1day on a fully networked simulator (like in real life). The course ends on the third day with an examination, which qualifies participants to re-activate an old GOC license and to prolong its term of validity. Applicants need to have an GOC, whether still valid or invalid

ROC/ GOC

All navigational officers and masters have to proof the competency as GMDSS radio operator. The participation in a course is only required if it was not included in the navigational training already. A GMDSS radio operator has to proof the continued competency with a corresponding seagoing service, the successful participation in an examination by the BSH or the participation in a refresher course.

GOC
The course target is to qualify the participants, to make proper use of all ship radio devices on board an ocean going vessel (sea area A4) in regard to the official laws and rules and to be able to apply for the “General Operator’s Certificate (GOC).Therefore, theoretical and practical knowledge will be archived and legal basics communicated, e.g. Radio Regulations (both, national and international regulations), relevant parts of SOLAS 75/78 and national Ship Safety Ordinance, and further national and international rules and regulations. This course is based on the IMO-Model Course 1.25.Applicants need to have a firm knowledge of Maritime English Communication Phrases in German and English.

Duration: 11 days, lessons from Mo-Fri, examination on second Saturday

ROC
The course target is to qualify the participants, to make proper use of all ship radio devices on board an vessel sailing in restricted waters (sea area A1) in regard to the official laws and rules and to be able to apply for the “Restricted Operator’s Certificate (ROC).Therefore, theoretical and practical knowledge will be archived and legal basics communicated, e.g. Radio Regulations (both, national and international regulations), relevant parts of SOLAS 75/78 and national Ship Safety Ordinance, and further national and international rules and regulations. This course is based on the IMO-Model Course 1.26.Applicants need to have a firm knowledge of Maritime English Communication Phrases in German and English.

Duration: 6 days, lessons from Mo-Fri, examination on Saturday.

The course is given in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer.
